Katalyst was established in 2019, bringing together local and international expertise and decades of experience across business, leadership, learning and consulting in Asia.

We design practical training and development for managers, teams and professionals—from focused workshops and coaching to longer-term leadership and capability programs.

Our consulting assignments may run from research and consultation through design, delivery and implementation. Many assignments combine both.

From our base in Vientiane, we undertake national, regional and international assignments across business, public and development sectors. We shape the team, scope and budget around what each assignment needs.

How we work

We get close
to the work.

We review the brief and evidence, talk with the client, listen to the people closest to the issue and ask useful questions. We want to understand the purpose, the pressures and what a useful result needs to look like.

For learning and capability work, we focus on what people need to be able to do in their actual roles and what will help them do it. For consulting work, we clarify the evidence, decisions and outputs the assignment needs to produce.

We develop and test ideas with the client, adjusting as new information or practical realities emerge.

The people leading the work remain involved through delivery.

02

How we work

We design the
whole response.

We design learning around real roles, workplace challenges and organizational systems, with realistic practice and workplace application built in. A focused workshop may be enough; a broader need may call for a connected program, coaching, workplace assignments or manager follow-through.

Consulting assignments may connect research and consultation with design, testing, reporting and implementation. When an assignment combines learning and consulting, we design the parts to work together.

Our distinctive canvas tools are one part of this design. Alongside frameworks, research tools, cases, scenarios and workbooks, they help people work through real questions and create something they can use.

03

How we work

The work
leads somewhere.

People work on situations they actually face—practicing a difficult conversation, applying a tool to their own role, examining evidence, testing an idea, comparing options or deciding what happens next.

The result might be stronger capability and performance, better team practice, a decision people can act on, a tested service, a practical plan or evidence the client can use.

Where useful, Katalyst stays involved through coaching, action reviews, manager follow-up, reporting or implementation support.

What does the work
need to achieve?

Start with what needs to change—what people need to do differently, what the organization needs to achieve or where the work is getting stuck. We can help shape the assignment and carry it through.
