Bond University · Mekong–Australia Partnership

Two trilateral programs. One continuing partnership.

Katalyst has worked with Bond University on two MAP masterclasses, contributing from bid and program preparation through contextualization, facilitation, mentoring and coordination.

The programs used different formats, but both brought Katalyst into the delivery team from the outset.

Leadership for Responsive Public Administration — Navigating Transformation

One program across three countries and four stages.

Designed for 25 public-sector leaders from Lao PDR and Vietnam, the program moved from a pre-course in Vientiane to a ten-day masterclass in Australia, 12 weeks of virtual mentoring and a final colloquium in Vietnam.

Katalyst worked with Bond on preparation and co-facilitated in Lao and English at every in-person stage—in Vientiane, throughout the Australian masterclass and in Vietnam. We then led the mentoring phase through webinars, small-group coaching and individual consultations, helping participants advance work-based projects linked to live reform challenges.

International Diplomacy and Effective Communication

Bringing three delivery partners around one program.

Bond University, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and Katalyst worked together to design and deliver this four-week masterclass for participants from Lao PDR and Vietnam.

Katalyst contributed to tender and program preparation, connected the three delivery teams, adapted and translated materials, and brought Lao institutional and cultural context into the program. We co-facilitated practical work on diplomatic communication, negotiation and conflict while coordinating delivery in Vientiane.

QUT · Australia Awards Short Courses · MAP

From pre-course design to post-course application.

Katalyst partnered with QUT on two successive Leadership for Responsive Public Administration programs—first for a Lao cohort, then for participants from Lao PDR and Vietnam.

The programs connected pre-course work in Lao PDR with intensive components in Australia, mentoring, Award Projects and post-course delivery. For the trilateral program, the final component brought the cohort together again in Hanoi.

Katalyst co-facilitated, delivered allocated content, connected local presenters and counterparts, and supported participants through online coaching and mentoring. We also coordinated the practical detail that kept each stage connected and contributed to completion reporting.

Working with the Laos Australia Institute and ANU Enterprise across a series of Strategic Analysis and Analytical Writing programs, Katalyst helped Lao government officials apply futures thinking, scenarios, red teaming and risk analysis.

Katalyst worked with Australian lead trainers to adapt materials, translate specialist content and co-facilitate in Lao and English in Vientiane and Canberra. This preserved the technical substance while helping participants apply the methods in their institutions.

Laos Australia Institute · Effective Leadership Program

Making leadership practical across public institutions.

Across successive cohorts, LAI engaged Katalyst to co-facilitate the Effective Leadership Program in Lao.

Participants came from the Committee for External Relations, the President’s and Prime Minister’s Offices, the State Audit Organization, Vientiane Times and the National Assembly.

Working alongside LAI, we adapted a common program core to each group’s responsibilities and workplace realities. Exercises, discussion and case work helped participants connect leadership style, emotional intelligence, motivation, goal setting and coaching with situations in their own teams.

The partnership continued beyond the core workshops. Katalyst also supported Women in Leadership and Learning Circle activities, as well as alumni sessions that helped participants revisit the material, compare experience and renew their professional connections.
