Good delivery depends on alignment. The objective needs to shape the agenda, content, speakers, communications and participant experience. When these elements are developed separately, an event can run smoothly and still miss its point.

Bringing a regional start-up award to life
During Lao PDR’s chairmanship of ASEAN, ERIA’s One ASEAN Start-Up Award Summit brought eight start-ups to Vientiane to pitch across the Digital/AI and Impact categories before the award ceremony at the ASEAN Business Awards gala.
Katalyst advised on the planning and fully organized the event, covering venue coordination, rehearsals, the MC, event staff, audiovisual arrangements and live event flow.
We also adapted the key visuals across title slides, standees and digital signage, and coordinated photography, videography and the event highlight video.

Preparing media teams for Lao PDR’s chairmanship of ASEAN
During Lao PDR’s chairmanship of ASEAN, Katalyst supported two connected Australian Embassy assignments focused on media readiness around major ASEAN meetings.
The first was a two-day Media Workshop for Lao Journalists, delivered with ERIA and government representatives. Katalyst managed registration, catering, the MC, audiovisual services, Lao–English interpretation and travel for international speakers.
Ahead of the ASEAN Leaders’ Summit, we supported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Press Department with training for officials and volunteer media liaison officers. Our role combined project and event management, on-site coordination and reporting.
Together, the assignments prepared both the journalists covering ASEAN events and the government teams supporting media engagement.

Coordinating a regional policy forum across the room and online
Katalyst managed delivery of the ASEAN Policy Forum on Higher Education in Vientiane.
Co-organized by the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports and the EU–ASEAN SCOPE-HE Programme, with support from UNESCO, the forum brought together senior officials and higher-education representatives from across ASEAN and beyond.
Our role covered venue and technical coordination, registration and participant support, VIP and speaker liaison, MC and moderation support, simultaneous interpretation, branding and media management.
We also supported the multi-camera livestream, photography and videography, while coordinating rapporteurs and the written event record—maintaining a consistent experience in the room and online.
Delivery partnershipLao New Wave Cinema partnered with Katalyst on the assignment and led the audiovisual production.

Bringing every part of a program closeout together
Katalyst supported The Asia Foundation with the event marking completion of the ProFIT initiative, bringing together program partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Our role covered event direction and flow, venue and audiovisual coordination, the MC and rehearsal, interpretation, registration, ushers and photography.
We also provided Lao-language note-taking and prepared the English meeting summary, connecting the live event with a clear written record of the program closeout.
