Green Enterprise & Eco-Entrepreneurship

Green Enterprise & Eco-Entrepreneurship

Good environmental ideas need good businesses behind them.

Helping green entrepreneurs and MSMEs turn environmental solutions into viable products, stronger businesses and opportunities for growth.

01 Understand the customer

02 Build a viable model

03 Reach the market

A good environmental idea is not automatically a good business.

Environmental innovation can create new products, services and business opportunities. Entrepreneurs still need to understand their customers, define a compelling offer, build a viable business model, set the right price, reach the market and communicate why their solution matters.

Katalyst brings practical business-development expertise to green enterprise — helping entrepreneurs, innovators and existing MSMEs connect environmental impact with commercial sustainability.

From idea to viable enterprise

Who is the customer?
What problem does it solve?
Why will someone choose it?
How will the business generate revenue?
What price will the market support?
What needs to happen next?

Our work helps entrepreneurs answer those questions — and turn the answers into practical action.

Selected experience

Green ideas. Stronger enterprises.

Three settings. One consistent focus: building the commercial capability that allows environmental solutions to create lasting value.

GIZ ProFEB Innovation Challenge

Taking forest-based ideas toward the market

Under the GIZ ProFEB Innovation Challenge, Katalyst supports entrepreneurs and innovators working with forest-based and non-timber forest product value chains.

Our work combines practical entrepreneurship support with pitch coaching, helping participants strengthen the commercial thinking behind their ideas and communicate them clearly and convincingly.

The focus is on moving beyond the idea itself — toward an innovation that can create real value in the market.

Swisscontact Eco-Challenge

Building the business behind the green solution

Through Swisscontact’s Waste to Value Eco-Challenge, Katalyst supported teams developing environmentally friendly products and services for the Lao market.

Using the Business Model Canvas and practical business-development tools, we helped participants strengthen products and value propositions, understand customers and competitors, develop revenue models and pricing, and build stronger approaches to marketing and sales.

The aim was not simply to develop innovative green ideas. It was to help turn those ideas into commercially viable and environmentally responsible businesses.

Swisscontact / Zero Waste Laos

Helping existing businesses go greener

Green enterprise development is not only about startups.

Working through Swisscontact with Zero Waste Laos, Katalyst supported hospitality and service businesses participating in the Plastic-Free Laos initiative.

The work helped businesses connect better environmental practice with the commercial side of the business — communicating their plastic-free status, strengthening market positioning and using environmental responsibility as part of the value they offered.

Practical by design

The environmental solution creates the purpose. The business model creates the path to market.

We help participants move from broad ambition to concrete customer, revenue, pricing, positioning and pitch decisions.
